Hyperlane is an independent, AI-native integrated development environment (IDE) designed to run multiple coding agents in parallel. Built on the VS Code engine, it supports Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, and Gemini CLI, with each agent operating in its own isolated Git worktree. This allows developers to orchestrate coding agents, review their work, and ship changes efficiently. Hyperlane is compatible with any CLI-based agent and those that use the ACP protocol, handling transport, state, and review seamlessly.
The IDE offers a comprehensive suite of tools, including a live graph of branches, merges, and commits, a three-way conflict editor, and advanced search capabilities. It also features tab groups for editor tiling, allowing multiple code editors, terminals, and browsers to be viewed side by side. Hyperlane's profiling tools include a flame chart for Node processes and a React component profiler, aiding in performance optimization.
Hyperlane integrates with popular Git hosts like GitHub, GitLab, and Codeberg, ensuring that developers can connect to their preferred platforms easily. The IDE is available on macOS, Windows, and Linux, with native installers for each platform. Hyperlane prioritizes security by ensuring that API keys and credentials are managed by the agent CLIs on the user's machine.
The decision to build on the VS Code engine was driven by the need for mature tooling and the ability to leverage existing language servers, debuggers, and formatters.
