Description

Kiro is an agentic AI platform for developers and teams that spans an IDE, a CLI, a web interface, a mobile app, and Kiro Crew. It helps you go from prototype to production with spec-driven development: turning prompts into requirements, architectural designs, and sequenced tasks, then implementing them with parallel agents that learn from every session.

Spec-driven development keeps the speed of vibe coding while addressing its limitations. Before writing code, Kiro checks requirements for contradictions and gaps using automated reasoning, then verifies behavior with property-based tests that assert rules across all inputs, catching bugs that pass unit tests but break in production. Agents can also keep working in the cloud when you step away.

Kiro is based on Code OSS, so you can import VS Code settings, themes, and Open VSX compatible plugins. It supports many languages including Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, Go, Rust, PHP, Ruby, Kotlin, C, C++, SQL, and more, and you can sign in with GitHub, Google, AWS Builder ID, or AWS IAM Identity Center without needing an AWS account. Kiro Crew is an open source, persistent development workspace that runs on your machine.

A free plan includes 50 credits with access to open weight models and Claude Sonnet 4.5, and paid plans start at $20/month for 1,000 credits, scaling up to higher tiers with premium model access and add-on credits.
