knooth is a screen recording app for macOS that combines capture, editing, and export in one tool. You record your screen, or just yourself, and refine the result with a built-in timeline editor, layered media, animations, and precision controls for layout, position, typography, color, audio, and export settings, producing polished tutorials and explainer videos without switching apps.
Recording features include capturing full screens or fine details, recording iPhone and iPad screens, an Auto Zoom Cursor that automatically zooms into cursor actions with editable keyframes, cursor customization with click sounds, background masking or blur, and export in multiple aspect ratios from widescreen to vertical and square. Audio tools include noise reduction and a built-in equalizer for studio-ready sound.
knooth includes optional AI features that generate captions and clean up speech disfluencies such as filler words, with support for 25+ languages. All AI processing runs entirely on the device, with no cloud services, third-party APIs, or inference servers, so audio, video, and text never leave the Mac and the features work offline, subject to hardware performance.
knooth is privacy-first: recordings and assets are created and saved locally and are never uploaded to external servers, and you fully own all content you create. It collects only limited anonymous usage analytics and does not use your content to train models.
